Shades of Berlin
Berlin aka Andrés de Fonollosa,
A character of compassion, who portrayed almost all emotions whether it be the psychopathic tendencies or the vulnerability of terminal illness.
A partner who believed betrayal is an inherent part of love, it doesn't depend on how much or deeply you love someone but it depends on the magnitude of the dilemma put in front of you. Lover, who knew well that love has to be lived and that it can't be timed. He believed in love despite 5 divorces. He was an authoritative figure who knew how to keep calm when everyone was dealing with an emotional chaos. A second-in-command who stuck with the plan and accepted the same punishment when he screwed up.
He had the experience of almost everything in his life which helped him to stand out from the other members of the heist and considerably regarded him as a first-rate philosopher. His intellect and high observatory skills were the sole reasons why the team could take decisions & survive in absence of the professor. He was a man of his words, honest and loved his brother and cared about him. Further after realizing that his best friend Palermo was madly in love with him in spite of no possible future together, he did what was best to do as he quoted “sometimes distance is the only way to make peace”.
In the end, he only wished to die with dignity and hence his ultimate sacrifice. He made sure that the plan was executed as planned and members got enough time to escape even if it meant giving up his life for the team as it was the heist that meant more than the money or the members. Afterall, he was the mastermind behind the greatest heist of all times!
